Our Story

For over 40 years The Mullan family owned The Imperial Hotel Garvagh.  James and Annie Mullan purchased the hotel during the 1960’s. Their son Seamus and his wife Gretta Mullan took over in the early 70’s and a few years later Brian and Sean were born into the business.

Brian and Sean were introduced to the hospitality industry at an early age and were taught their trade very quickly working in a very successful family business. After their studies  Brian and Sean were both employed full time in the Imperial Hotel.  Brian managed the Front of House and Sean eventually became Head Chef. 

During the years The Imperial  earned a reputation for quality food that was second to none. This opinion was voiced from all areas around the North. Over the years the Mullan family have gained vast experience in catering and their secrets have been passed on from generation to generation.

In 2005 with Seamus and Gretta due to retire the family decided to sell the business and move on to pastures new.  Now, keen on a new challenge Brian and Sean are re-entering  the Catering Trade as ‘Annie’s Traditional Food'.  They are confident that their produce can compete in price and quality with any such products presently on the market.

The decision to name the business after after their Grandmother was an easy one as she has influenced them greatly and her dedication and drive has rubbed of on all of them.  Many of the traditional recipes were introduced by Annie, their Grandmother and her recipes have been adapted and modified over the years by Gretta and eventually by Sean. 

The main objective of 'Annie's Tradional Food' is to provide quality products to consumers all over Northern Ireland. 
 
Annie's provide a ready to eat product to the table at a very affordable price and can be consumed as they are or can be used to compliment foods cooked in the home.

The products are fresh, consistent, affordable, traditional, adaptable, but most importantly 'Annie's Tradional Food'  have a flavour that few others can match.

Annie's products can compliment the most adventurous cook or provide a complete meal in itself.
